Where we stay

Shared Bungalows at The Shadow Mentawai

One of the few places truly run by locals. You feel it straight away. That’s why we chose it and why we keep coming back. The crew makes you feel at home, and they know these waves like the back of their hand.

Individual beds in shared rooms - All of them with air conditioner. One of the best spots in Mentawais! (Ask around!)

The island is located in the Playground Area in North Mentawai (Siberut). We will be surrounded 360 degrees by white sand beaches, reefs, coconut trees, crystalline waters, tropical jungle and big menu of world class waves.

Here are some of the surf spots we will surf in the Playgrounds area:

Burgerworld: A mellow right-hander, great for flow & confidence.
Beng Beng: A consistent, fun left-hander with rippable walls.
Nipussi: Fast right reef that works well on smaller swells.
E-Bay: Hollow left barrels for experienced surfers.
Pitstops: Versatile right-hander with fun sections.
A-frames: User-friendly peaks. Great for wave count
4 Bobs: Playful, forgiving reef. Ideal for progression days
Bikinis: Fun left with clean walls and easy rhythm
Shadow Right: A playful right-hander with fun sections.
Shadow Left: A shorter left-hander with nice walls to carve.
