  • What do we do during our surf trips?
Our surf trips are all about creating memorable and empowering experiences that go beyond just surfing. We're not a luxury surf retreat; we like to think about like a surf trip with your friends. As women, we understand the shared or similar struggles we face in the water. We're consistently amazed by the power of women surfing together. The more confident you are, the more waves you will catch, and the more your surfing is going to improve. Our aim is to provide you with the tools and guidance to build confidence, both in and out of the water. We offer tools like video coaching to help you understand and improve your surfing technique and on-land training activities such as surf skate or surf mobility exercises. Check out our Home page for more detailed info :)
  • Who are this surf trips for?
Our surf trips are designed for women of surfing levels from Experienced Beginners to Advanced Intermediates and including solo travellers looking to connect with like-minded surfer women. It's the perfect choice for those who love surfing, value personal growth, and want to create lasting connections in an empowering and adventurous environment. Whether you're an advanced beginner or an experienced surfer, our trips offer a supportive and memorable experience that goes beyond the waves. We understand the importance of being with surfers at a similar skill level. That's why we carefully categorise our trips to ensure you ride with sisters that have a similar level and this allows us to offer more targeted coaching and support that suits your specific skill level.
  • Am I too old or too young for this?
Many of our first-timers are concerned about this, so you are not the only one asking this question! About 80% of our guests are aged 25-55, with most in their 30s and 40s. But age is just a number to us! Everyone is welcome. We focus on surfing progression and good times. Some enjoy a drink at sunset and might go out once or twice, but it's not a party scene at all.
  • How do I know exactly my surf level?
When we organize a surf trip, we recommend specific surf levels for participants. This recommendation is primarily based on the type of waves at the chosen surf spot. Maintaining a similar skill level within the group allows us to surf in the same break while filming and capturing memorable moments. We understand that classifying your own surf level can be challenging, but accuracy is essential. If you're uncertain about your level, don't worry—our team is here to assist. You can check your surf level using our online tool: https://www.samewavecommunity.com/surf-level If you're still unsure after using the online tool, we offer the option to schedule a quick call or chat with our Head Surf Coaches. They are more than happy to help determine the most suitable level for your skill and experience.
  • Can beginners join?
At this time, our surf trips are tailored to individuals with at least a basic understanding of surfing. We do require participants to have a minimum level of surfing knowledge or a basic familiarity with the sport. We encourage you to review our surfing level guidelines to determine if our trips are suitable for your skill level. If you are at least on level 2, then it's fine. Check here your surfing level: https://www.samewavecommunity.com/surf-level If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
  • Is this trip for shortboarders or longboarders?
Either! Whether you're into shortboarding or longboarding, you're totally welcome here! We've got a crew ready to help you level up your surfing game on, no matter your board preference. We will divide the group depending on surfing modality.
  • What happens if there are no waves during the trip?
We carefully select spots that are highly consistent with waves, making it highly unlikely that we won't find any waves during our trips. However, since we can't control Mother Nature, we've got you covered with a backup plan. If by any chance we encounter a few days with less-than-ideal surf conditions, we've lined up plenty of workshops and activities to keep you engaged and progressing. These non-surfing days can become the perfect opportunity for focused training, contributing just as much, if not more, to your surfing progress. If you have specific concerns or questions about surf conditions, please reach out to info@samewavesurftrips.com
  • How do I book my spot?
Navigate to the 'Women's Surf Trips' section on our menu, choose the trip that piques your interest, and click the 'Join Now' or 'Secure your Spot' button. To confirm and secure your spot we require only a small deposit of the total cost of the trip ($500 AUD). The balance payment is required 30 days prior to the surf trip date. If you are booking within those 30 days, we will require the full payment. You can cancel for free anytime 3 months before the surf trip's date. Please contact us at info@samewavesurftrips.com if you have any questions or check out T&C's here: https://www.samewavecommunity.com/legal-note
  • Can I book but for just less days?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. We're dedicated to offering a comprehensive surfing progression experience, which is why we don't accommodate bookings for fewer days. Each spot is reserved to ensure every participant enjoys the full experience, and booking for fewer days may limit availability for others seeking the complete trip.
  • Can I join without the accomodation?
Unfortunately our surf trips include accommodation. By reserving a spot without accommodation, it affects the availability for others who are expecting the full experience. We've carefully planned and pre-booked accommodation for all participants to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable retreat for everyone involved. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your understanding.
  • What happens if I have to cancel?
We understand that life can be unpredictable, so we've got you covered! If you cancel your booking 3 months before the trip, we'll provide a full refund. For cancellations after this period, unfortunately we can't offer refunds, but we encourage you to find someone to take your spot. If successful, we'll refund you your payment, minus a $250 administration fee. On our side, we will also try to help you to find someone to cover your spot but the less notice we have, the more difficult it generally becomes to re-book the spot. We often have waiting lists but our ability to re-sell your spot is out of our control. It is under your responsibility to find a replacement in order to get the refund. For further assistance or specific concerns, please reach out to us at info@samewavesurftrips.com.
  • How likely is the trip to be cancelled?
While we strive to ensure smooth operations for all our surf trips, there are instances where cancellations or rescheduling may occur. We continuously monitor events that may impact the safety or execution of your upcoming trip. In the rare case of a cancellation by SAMEWAVE due to safety or operational reasons, occurring 60 days or more before the trip begins, you will be promptly notified via email. In such instances, you will have the option to transfer your deposit to any available alternate surf trip or receive a full refund. Please note the following: SAMEWAVE is not liable for any costs incurred for travel arrangements beyond our surf trip booking in the event of cancellations or rescheduling. To ensure seamless planning, we recommend awaiting our trip confirmation or 60 days before your surf trip begins before finalising your travel arrangements
