THE WAVES IN ARRAWARRA, NSW
On the northern beaches of the Coffs Coast region, Arrawarra is located on the northern beaches of the Coffs Coast region. Is a popular spot for surfers with a right hand point break mostly for longboarders for its type of wave but you can also find shortboarders catching bigger waves further back. One of the best things about this spot, is that we have plenty of other near spots to check.
Mullaway is only couple minutes away from Arrawarra and has fairly consistent surf. Autumn and winter are the favoured times of year for waves. Works best in offshore winds from the west with some shelter here from south winds. In between of both these beaches, we can find Mullawarra, which got it's name from being situated between Arrawarra and Mullaway headlands. This point is often overlooked by surfers wanting to surf the better known breaks around it. There are a wide range of breaks to choose from just on this beach alone and can be surfed in most swells and wind directions. Few minutes drive down south there is Woolgoola Main Beach, fun for shortboard riding and the patrolled beach makes it a good spot to learn. More experienced surfers might enjoy the challenge of a bigger wave at Woolgoolga Back Beach.
